We are seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join our growing Scottish Roads and Highways team.  As a Senior Highways Engineer you will be responsible for delivery of a wide range of different projects as part of a close-knit and supportive team.  Working in collaboration with multiple different discipline experts across the business, you will help to deliver solutions for our clients.

You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our clients, including Local Authorities and Design and Build Contractors.  Our portfolio includes a variety of roads and highways projects from smaller scale local improvements to large national strategic schemes and frameworks.  You will contribute to the technical delivery of projects while working closely with our clients to influence the development of highways scheme's in the region. We also work with and support teams across the UK to deliver schemes for clients, both big and small.

As a Senior Highways Engineer you will oversee the work of others.  You will lead and mentor some of our more junior engineers and technicians ensuring high quality output.  As a growing team you will have the opportunity to help shape and build the team.  As we grow, you will have opportunities to progress and develop your own career within Stantec.

About You

You’ll be BSc/BEng/MEng qualified and Incorporated or Chartered (or on route to Chartership). You will have expertise in highway infrastructure design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for the entire lifecycle – from concept, feasibility and planning through to detailed design and delivery.  Ideally, you will have knowledge of CDM, BIM and DMRB and experience of Civil 3D. It is anticipated that the ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge across highway engineering disciplines.  

Your passion and experience of delivering quality infrastructure design solutions is key to your success in this role. You will understand engineering principals, have an eye for detail and be pragmatic.  You will be ambitious, forward thinking and have a desire to better your career.  You will be keen to keep learning and share knowledge through the teaching of others.
