The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Associate / Senior Associate to join our Transport Planning team in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in our growth agenda and lead a team of seasoned transport planners that have been long established in the region.

Set in a beautiful and unique office environment, our team leads on a multitude of exciting projects for a wide range of clients from large mixed-use, residential or commercial development projects through to smaller redevelopment sites. You will lead our team, overseeing project delivery from inception to delivery, develop client relationships and support the delivery of a wide range of regional and national projects. You will mentor and guide junior colleagues in the effective delivery of high-quality transport assessments, travel plans, transport modelling and environmental assessments. You will be working as part of our interdisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, designers and planners delivering development and infrastructure projects across the region.

Important to your success, will be your contribution to business planning and growth for the local team and region. You will be working with Directors and other Associates from across our technical teams to identify the future direction that the team should be pursuing. You will identify and execute plans to diversify the client base, win new work, build relationships, and ensure that the practice is at the forefront of consultants and leading innovation in the area.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an experienced transport planner with a broad understanding of all elements of the transport planning profession, ideally with a focus on land development projects. 

You'll be degree qualified in transportation, geography, civil engineering, planning, economics or similar. You will have demonstrable experience in leading a successful team in delivering transport planning solutions.  You will have a strong client facing ethos, a can-do attitude and the ability to present complex projects and concepts to fellow professionals, and internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

You’ll have an interest in the future of transport planning, in the context of a digital and low carbon society Your passion for transport and experience of delivering quality solutions to clients is most crucial to your success in this role.
