The Opportunity

We make communities more resilient through smarter wastewater asset management.

Our Wastewater Team in Ireland has a significant track record of successful delivery across both the North and South of Ireland. We support our clients to help them drive performance and realise financial and social value from their assets. We do this by working with clients in a collaborative environment to provide strategic, resilient, sustainable, and innovative solutions to their performance issues. We work with client teams and stakeholders to unlock hidden answers within data and provide insight into the performance of their asset base, helping them to work more effectively and make systems based, informed and timely decisions.

Our continued success in Ireland has bought about the opportunity to work on some of the leading and pioneering projects for clients across Ireland. As a result, we have a new opportunity for a Wastewater Technical Specialist to join our team. This role can be based in our Belfast or Dublin offices, with hybrid working allowing for a combination of office and home-working.

As a member of our team, you will typically be involved in developing unique and innovative catchment solutions to the well-publicised industry issues and solving the complexities of regulatory issues. These solutions will provide the most efficient service-based outcomes for our clients.

An important part of your role will be to identify wider improvement opportunities for clients to reduce risk and/or improve their effectiveness and efficiency. You will build internal and external relationships to guide and influence client’s strategic thinking, with the overall aim of building and growing the Stantec business.

On a personal level, you will learn and develop, and our goal is to aid your career progression and increase your job satisfaction. Your role will be varied and challenging, and you will have the opportunity to learn from the wider group and take your career to the next level on some of the most inspiring wastewater projects on the island of Ireland.

About You

You will have detailed knowledge of wastewater networks and/or treatment and the interdependencies between components of the wastewater system. You will most likely be Chartered or working towards Chartered status with a relevant institution, such as ICE, CIWEM or IEI.

You will need to have excellent analytical skills in the interpretation and presentation of data with the ability to diagnose catchment issues. You will have excellent communication skills with demonstrable ability of report writing and presentation of technical problems to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Most importantly, you will be inquisitive and keen to challenge industry norms, adopting an ethos of client focus and service excellence, and have a passion for making a difference in the wastewater sector.
