Our strategy within the Water division for 2024 and beyond is creating exciting new opportunities in the business. We partner with the top water clients across the UK and Ireland, work on some of the largest, most iconic water projects in the industry and we promise to design with community in mind by reducing environmental impacts and improving social impacts. We enable the delivery of sustainable development and infrastructure projects that adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change.
The Opportunity
We are looking for Senior or Principal Civil Engineers to join our water sector team based in Manchester as a Storm Overflows Project Design Lead. The role would suit someone who wants to develop their career within an industry leading consultancy.
Through our Yorkshire Water Strategic Planning Partner framework, we have seen significant growth in our Storm Overflows programme. We are looking for someone to provide overall technical leadership on these projects to our Manchester based design team. There are a range of projects that will see you leading schemes through option development and on to outline design. There are also opportunities to work on strategy / feasibility studies. These projects will see you developing solutions to Storm Overflows through sustainable drainage and large-scale civil engineering infrastructure.
In your role you will have access to Stantec’s world-class expertise to help you deliver leading edge solutions for our clients. You’ll also be able to mentor and develop other members of the Civil Engineering team.
Our team in Manchester work closely with our Warrington and Leeds teams who support our United Utilities frameworks and Yorkshire Water Strategic Planning Partnership (SPP) framework. Our office is in the centre of Manchester, located close to Oxford Road train station and other public transport hubs so is easily commutable.
About you
We are seeking people from a range of civil engineering and urban drainage backgrounds with project leadership experience - whether that is upfront design and feasibility studies or working in the design and build space.
Ideally you will be an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer, but if you’re not yet and have the right level of experience we will give you the support you need in gaining IEng or CEng.
