Stantec are currently looking for an Assistant Transport Planner to join our team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small but innovative and ambitious transport team that are situated in the city centre. Working as part a wider network of well over 100 Transport professionals across the UK, the team delivers a range of exciting projects for clients in the North-West region and beyond.

As our Assistant Transport Planner, you will have the opportunity to work within a passionate team of transport professionals where you will have the chance to get exposure on a variety of transport projects. Stantec will provide you with significant opportunity for career progression and personal development, through the delivery of high value quality services to influential clients.
 
On a day to day basis, you will provide technical support on a range of transport planning projects including the preparation of transport assessments and travel plans to support planning applications. You will be involved with traffic and junction modelling as well as undertaking research, data analysis and policy review work. You will occasionally undertake site visits and surveys as well as assisting the preparation of fee proposals and tenders.

To succeed in this role, you will be a positive and enthusiastic team player but critically, you will have a passion for transport planning and the ambition to take your career to the next level.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a degree / higher level qualification and will have the following Skills and experience: -

• Excellent report writing skills and good levels of numeracy.
• An excellent communicator and confident to attend meetings
• Experience of using TRICs database
• Experience of meeting demanding deadlines
• Experience of GIS, MS Access, MS Project and AutoCAD is welcome
• Experience of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG etc. is also desirable
