Within our flood risk management team, we have extensive modelling and assessment expertise and currently we are looking for a Senior/Principal Flood Risk Engineer to join our team.

Based in our London office in Farringdon, this is a great opportunity for you to develop your existing consultancy experience within an exciting and friendly environment. Your main task will be to help shape and direct our project team and provide robust and creative advice to our existing clients.

You will have the opportunity to take a lead in a range of multi-disciplinary projects, including flood risk assessment and surface water drainage strategies for regeneration, urban expansion and large infrastructure projects, and supporting  work driven by the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations and the Water Framework Directive (WFD).


Key responsibilities / duties include:

  • Client and stakeholder liaison
  • Project management, undertaking a technical lead and review role
  • Review technical work, such as hydrological and hydraulic analysis, flood risk reports, drainage strategies and Microdrainage calculations
  • Preparation of flood risk assessments and environmental statement water chapters
  • Preparation of fees proposal and able to input into multi-disciplinary bids


About You

The ideal candidate will be a positive and enthusiastic team player, who holds a degree, Masters degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline and will be either Chartered or working towards Chartered status.

You’ll have detailed experience of land development and planning policy in the UK, and have working knowledge of producing 1D/2D models, drainage network models, and using models to inform design.

As an experienced consultant you’ll also possess strong report-writing and client-facing skills, and be able work across multiple complex projects.
